How to Get More Lash Clients: 8 Strategies That Actually Work

The problem isn't your lashing skill.

Most lash techs who struggle to fill their books aren't losing clients because of poor technique. They're losing them — or failing to attract new ones — because of visibility gaps and inconsistent follow-through. A new client finds you on Instagram but your profile doesn't have a booking link. A loyal client was ready to rebook but never got a reminder. A potential client searched Google and chose someone with 40 reviews over you.

None of these are skill problems. They're systems problems. And systems are fixable.

Here are eight strategies that actually move the needle — from getting found by new clients to making sure your current ones keep coming back.

Strategy 1

Master Your Instagram Profile

Your Instagram profile is your storefront. Before a potential client ever DMs you or taps “book,” she's scanning your grid, reading your bio, and checking your highlights — in about eight seconds. If she can't find your prices or a booking link in that window, she's gone.

Get these three things right before anything else:

Bio with a booking link one tap, one destination — not a link tree with twelve options
Professional highlight covers BOOKING, PRICING, and AFTERCARE highlights organized and on-brand
Consistent username easy to find, easy to tag — skip the underscores and numbers if you can

A set of polished, branded highlight covers is one of the fastest credibility signals on your profile. Lash Instagram templates take care of this in minutes — no design experience required.

Strategy 2

Post 3x/Week with the Right Content Mix

Instagram rewards consistency. Three posts per week, every week, will outperform seven posts one week followed by silence for the next three. Potential clients read your posting cadence as a signal of how active and reliable your business is — a dormant feed raises doubt before a single word is read.

The content mix that drives bookings:

Before & afters — your highest-converting content. Post every set you're proud of.
Price reveals — don't make people DM to find out what you charge.
Booking reminders — “Spots open this week” with a direct link. Simple and effective.

Quantity matters more than perfection here. A good photo posted consistently beats a perfect one posted twice a month.

Strategy 3

Ask Every Client for a Google Review — In the Chair

Local SEO is the highest-ROI move a local service business can make — and almost no lash techs are working it intentionally.

When someone searches “lash tech near me” or “lash extensions [your city],” Google Maps results appear above everything else. Those results are ranked largely by review count and recency. A lash tech with 40 five-star reviews will outrank a better tech with 4.

The mistake most techs make: texting after the appointment and hoping. The right moment is while the client is still in the chair, before she's distracted by her phone or the rest of her day. Ask in person, then text the direct link so it's one tap away. Most happy clients will do it if you ask at the right moment — almost none will do it if you don't.

Strategy 4

Use a Professional Client Intake Form

Your intake process is often the first professional interaction a new client has with your business — and it happens before she's ever on your table.

A well-designed lash client intake form does three things at once:

1.Protects you legally by documenting allergies, sensitivity history, and consent
2.Signals legitimacy — a polished form says "this person runs a real business"
3.Sets expectations so the appointment goes smoothly from the start

A sloppy or nonexistent intake process raises red flags for new clients who are already a little nervous about letting someone near their eyes. Every touchpoint either builds confidence or erodes it.

Strategy 5

Send a Rebooking Reminder at the 3–4 Week Mark

Lash extensions need fills every 2–4 weeks. Your clients know this — but life gets busy and appointments slip. A simple text at the three-week mark is the difference between a loyal regular and a client you only see twice before she ghosts.

This is one of the most underrated retention moves in the business. Retention is dramatically cheaper than acquisition — a client you keep costs you a text message. A client you lose costs you however much you spend to find her replacement.

Keep the message short and direct: “Hey [Name]! It's been 3 weeks since your last fill — ready to rebook? I have spots open next week.” A single text at week three retains clients better than any acquisition campaign.

Strategy 6

Have a Clear, Professional Price Menu

Pricing ambiguity kills conversions. If a potential client has to DM you to find out what you charge, most won't bother — they'll tap over to the next tech whose profile makes pricing easy to find.

You need your pricing in two places: displayed in your Instagram Pricing highlight, and available as a clean PDF or printed menu for in-person consultations. A professional lash service menu template handles both — one designed document you can share digitally and print at 300dpi.

A polished price menu also signals confidence in what you charge. The techs who apologize for their prices with a screenshot from Notes attract clients who negotiate. The ones with a proper menu attract clients who pay.

Strategy 7

Post Your Work in Local Facebook Groups

Instagram finds people who follow beauty accounts. Facebook groups find people in your city who are actively looking for local recommendations right now. These are not the same audience.

Search for groups like “lash deals [your city],” “[city] beauty recommendations,” or “[city] girls who brunch.” Join as a local expert — answer questions, share useful content, and post your work occasionally with a booking link. The goal is to be the lash tech people tag when someone asks for a recommendation.

Don't spam. One well-timed post in the right group drives more bookings than ten cold promotional posts. Show up consistently as a resource and the bookings follow.

Strategy 8

Offer a Referral Incentive

Word of mouth from a happy client converts at roughly 5x the rate of cold traffic. The problem isn't that clients don't want to refer you — it's that they don't have a reason to act on it right now.

A simple referral program solves this: $5–10 off for both the referrer and the new client. That's it. Print a small stack of referral cards, hand one to every client at checkout, and you've removed the only friction that was stopping them from sending friends your way.

The discount costs you almost nothing on a fill. The referred client costs you zero to acquire — and tends to be one of your most loyal because she came in already trusting you.

Consistent Clients Come from Consistent Systems

The lash techs who fill their books aren't the ones who got lucky on Instagram. They're the ones who built systems: a profile that converts, a posting habit that keeps them visible, a review strategy that builds local SEO, an intake process that signals professionalism, a rebooking reminder that retains clients before they drift, a price menu that closes inquiries, a presence in their local community, and a referral loop that turns happy clients into their best salespeople.

None of this requires a marketing degree or a big budget. It requires the right tools and the discipline to show up consistently.
